Data We Collect

How We Use Data

We use data to authenticate users, operate games and rooms, protect fair play, provide profiles and leaderboards, deliver puzzles and training, process support requests, prevent abuse, troubleshoot crashes, improve ChessPlay, and send service notifications where enabled.

Cookies, Web Auth, And Mobile Tokens

The web app uses cookies and browser storage for secure login, refresh tokens, socket authentication, security checks, and preferences. Mobile apps use secure token storage instead of relying on browser cookies.

Push Notifications

If you grant permission, ChessPlay may register an Expo push token. Denying permission does not block core app use. Tokens are revoked on logout where possible and may be deleted with your account.

Third-Party Services

ChessPlay may use hosting, database, email, analytics, crash monitoring, payment, support, and push notification providers. Providers process data only as needed to operate ChessPlay.

Retention And Deletion

We retain data as long as needed to provide ChessPlay, satisfy legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent cheating or abuse, and maintain security. You can request deletion from app settings or the Delete Account page. Some anonymized or security records may remain where required.

Legal Rights

Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or export of your personal data. Contact support@getchessplay.com.

Updates

We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date.
